When and How Should I Begin my IIT JEE Preparation? 

Start with NCERT books, which are the base for JEE main. Build a strong base of the concepts and theories from NCERT books. Note that 60-70% of the JEE Main paper is based on NCERT books. Having a clear base of the syllabus is an important attribute for JEE preparation. Once you are done with these books, start referring to other books.  

You have to study the concepts and topics of JEE level. It is more about time management, learning discipline, following a routine, and clearing the basic concepts well. If you appear for Foundation Course for JEE, you don't need to think much, just follow the classes and keep doing homework/assignments on time. 

Be regular with your study schedule and JEE classes. Understand all the topics and concepts thoroughly in class 11th because in class 12th you will get access to most of the topics of class 11th. You can also see chapter-wise PDFs of all subjects, tips for preparation, video tutorial sessions, both live and recorded, etc. 

You should always have a positive attitude. Believe in yourself. Always remind yourself what your goal is. You can listen to motivational speeches and also put such posters in your room. There will be times when you feel demotivated. Don’t give up hope. Eating healthy and exercising daily helps you to be in a relaxed mood. Don’t waste time on TV and the internet.  

It is highly recommended to make your own short notes on a chapter while learning. This should contain important facts, shortcuts and main formulas. These notes will be very useful for you when you have only a few days left for the exam. You can revise these notes and memorize important points and formulas.
