The University Grants Commission National Eligibility Test (UGC NET) 

UGC NET is primarily conducted to determine the eligibility of candidates for Assistant Professor positions and to award Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) in Indian universities and colleges. 

UGC NET covers a wide range of subjects, including humanities, social sciences, environmental sciences, computer science, and more. It is not limited to technical or science disciplines. 

UGC NET is a three-paper examination, consisting of two papers (Paper-I and Paper-II) that are compulsory for all candidates and a third paper (Paper-III) that is related to the candidate's chosen subject. 

The Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) 

GATE is an examination that evaluates the comprehensive understanding of various engineering and science subjects 

GATE primarily focuses on science and engineering subjects, including mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, computer science, mathematics, and various other technical fields. 

GATE is a single-paper examination that assesses candidates in their chosen subject. The paper format may include multiple-choice questions, numerical answer questions, and multiple select questions.
