Get a thorough understanding of the JEE syllabus first. Understand the concepts, learn the topics and also practice questions as per the syllabus. It would be a good idea to make a timetable or a study plan and also consistently make time to study.

Know the syllabus, paper pattern, and marking scheme

It is not difficult to crack JEE in the first attempt. The only thing you need to do is to understand the concepts well and practice a lot of problems. Just reading theory will not be enough, solve problems consistently and improve on your weakness.

Understanding concepts and practice is the key -

Choosing the suitable study material for preparation is very important for getting the best results in the JEE exams. The JEE preparation study material should include NCERT books, question papers, mock tests, etc.

Select your study materials wisely

Don’t read too many reference books. Stick to one good MCQ book or study from a JEE coaching material. NCERT is a good book for chemistry.

Avoid reading multiple books

If you can make handy notes during your preparation of every chapter of the JEE syllabus, it would be easier for you to revise later on, in the last few days leading to the exam.

Make notes for each chapter

Accept the fact that you can’t understand and learn everything on your own. Don’t be shy to ask even small doubts from the teacher.

Clear your doubts regularly -

Gather the JEE Main question papers of the past 5 years and go through them well. This can help students estimate the weightage and type of question for each section of the test paper.

Previous year’s question papers -

Revision is a continuous process. You may think you have done a particular chapter or topic very nicely, but you won’t be able to retain it unless you read it again. This has to be continued throughout the JEE preparation. Make notes and review them.

Revise, again and again -

One of the most necessary skills to crack IIT JEE in the first attempt is time management. Practice online mock tests periodically to manage your time well. With consistent practice, you will be able to learn the pattern of solving questions.

Take mock tests frequently to analyze your preparation level

Be smart about your goals and strategy. Know your strength and weakness. It’s okay to make mistakes but be smart enough to learn from them.
