NIRF Rank 1: All India Institute of Medical Sciences - The All India Institutes of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) is a group of autonomous government public medical universities of higher education under the jurisdiction of the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India. These institutes have been declared by an Act of Parliament as Institutes of National Importance. AIIMS New Delhi, the forerunner institute, was established in 1956. 

NIRF Rank 2: Post Graduate Institute of Medical Education and Research - Internationally known for its training programs, the center was established in 1976 as the Institute of Postgraduate Medicine under the University of Ceylon Act No.1 of 1976 with Professor K. N. Seneviratne its first director. In 1980 it was reorganized and renamed under the Postgraduate Institute of Medicine Act No.1 of 1980.

NIMHANS is the apex center for mental health and neuroscience education in the country. It is an Institute of National Importance that operates autonomously under the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare. 

NIRF Rank 5: Banaras Hindu University - Kashi Hindu Vishwa Vidyalaya, formerly Central Hindu College, is a collegiate, central, and research university located in Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh, India. It was established in 1916 jointly by Pandit Madan Mohan Malaviya, the Maharaja of Darbhanga Rameshwar Singh, Maharaja of Banaras Prabhu Narayan Singh, Sunder Lal, and British Theosophist and Home Rule League founder Annie Besant.

JIPMER is an Institute of National Importance (INI) and a tertiary care referral hospital. It is under the direct administrative control of the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, and the Indian Government, with autonomy. 

NIRF Rank 7: Sanjay Gandhi Postgraduate Institute of Medical Sciences - under the State Legislature Act, located in Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh 14 km (8.7 mi) south of Hazratganj on Raebareli road. It was established in 1983 and is named after Sanjay Gandhi. 

NIRF Rank 8: Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham - Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham (or Amrita University) is a private deemed university based in Coimbatore, India. It currently has 7 campuses with 16 constituent schools across the Indian states of Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Andhra Pradesh, and Karnataka with the headquarters at Ettimadai, Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu. 

NIRF Rank 9: Sree Chitra Tirunal Institute for Medical Sciences and Technology, Thiruvananthapuram - formerly Sree Chitra Tirunal Medical Center, is an autonomous medical school and an Institute of National Importance in India established in 1976 at Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala. 

NIRF Rank 10: Kasturba Medical College, Manipal - Kasturba Medical College, Manipal, and Kasturba Medical College, Mangalore, together known as KMC, are two private medical colleges in coastal Karnataka, India, established in 1953.[1] The colleges were established as a single unit and later became two colleges with their own teaching hospitals.
