10 Famous People From North East India Who Became National Icons

Mary Kom:  

Hailing from Manipur, Mary Kom is a world-renowned boxer who has won multiple medals at international events, including the Olympics. She is a five-time World Amateur Boxing champion and has been an inspiration for aspiring athletes across the country. 

Bhupen Hazarika: 

 Born in Assam, Bhupen Hazarika was a renowned singer, composer, and filmmaker. He is known for his soulful music and impactful lyrics, which often depicted the social and political issues of the region.  

Jamini Roy:
