After completing 12th class students have to apply for foundation course at Institute of Company Secretaries of India. This course is of eight months duration. It is necessary to pass the course within three years of admission.
Once the students have completed ICSI Foundation Course then you can take admission in ICSI Intermediate Course.
Students after passing the ICSI Intermediate course are eligible to enroll in the final stage of ICSI, which is the final stage of the process to become a CS.
The next step is to complete the training. After completing the final level of the course the students will have to undergo short term training.
The practical knowledge gained through training during the Intermediate level and after the final level helps in getting Associate membership of ICSI.
Once the successful training of the students is completed, they become eligible to become Associate Company Secretaries.
The main path to the career of a company secretary begins only when they qualify as an associate company secretary.
