3 Ways To Help Your Child When They Get Stressed About The College Application Process - Applying to college is complicated and stressful for both students and parents. As parents, we have gone through similar situations and can usually lean on our past experiences for guidance. 

Guide them in creating a plan - As we mentioned earlier, applying to college includes several phases, steps, and deadlines. Before you begin anything, set us aside time one afternoon to list out everything that needs to be done between now and when they get accepted.

Encourage them to tell their story - The application process is not the only thing students worry about when trying to get into college. Many times students worry about how they will get in after they apply.

Find the college that is a right fit for them - Over the years, I have researched, surveyed, and interviewed hundreds of college graduates regarding their time in school and what they wish they could do differently.

How Long Should a College Essay Be - Though the Common App –  which students can submit to multiple colleges – notes that "there are no strict word limits" for its main essay, it suggests a cap of about 650 words.
