UPSC CDS Eligibility Criteria 2023
- Candidates who live permanently in India can apply for the CDS exam.

UPSC CDS Eligibility Criteria: Educational Attributes
If a candidate wants to apply for UPSC CDS Exam 2023, then he/she must complete a degree or at least must be in the final year. Read the following:
1. For IMA and OTA, candidates must have a university degree or equivalent from a nationally recognized institution.
2. For INA (Indian Naval Academy), candidates must have an engineering degree from a recognized university/institution.
3. To apply for the Air Force Academy, applicants must complete a degree (with Physics and Mathematics in 10 + 2) or a Bachelor of degree in engineering from an accredited university.

UPSC CDS Eligibility Criteria: Physical Standards
The UPSC Medical Committee will review all applicants to ensure that they are focused on serving in the military command environment. Therefore, applicants must verify that they meet all the standard physical requirements set by UPSC.
- According to UPSC recommendations, applicants with permanent tattoos on the inside of the elbow to the wrist and back of the hand/back of the hand can only be admitted in physical and mental forms. Tattoos on all other parts of the body lead to disqualification.
- Candidates must not have any illness or disability in order to be able to effectively perform the tasks of the CDS.
- Applicants must meet the vision and hearing standards set by UPSC. The criteria may vary from role to role.
- The minimum height for male candidates is 157.5 cm (157 cm and 162 cm for navy) and Women with a height of 5 cm (air force) and a minimum height of 152 cm take the CDS 2 test.
- Poor development or deterioration of bone and joint function will cause the candidate to be disqualified.
- Applicants must have the medical capabilities to complete military training and perform tasks in the Bundeswehr. Any deformation or abnormality of the body will result in the disqualification of the candidate.
