UPSC CAPF Exam 2015: Know if you are eligible

Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has invited applications for the Central Armed Forces (Assistant Commandants) Examination, 2015. UPSC will hold a written examination on July 12, for recruitment of Assistant Commandants (Group A) in the Central Armed Police Forces (CAPF). The examination further recruits for Border Security Force (BSF), Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), Central Industrial Security Force (CISF), Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) and Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB).

Eligibility criteria:

Candidate applying for the post must be a citizen of India.

The post of Assistant Commandants in CRPF, CISF, SSB and BSF is available for both Male and Female candidates. However, for appointment to the post of Assistant Commandants in ITBP only male candidates are eligible.

Educational qualifications: The candidate must hold a Bachelor’s degree of a University incorporated by an Act of the Central or State Legislature in India or other educational institutions established by an Act of Parliament or declared to be deemed as a University under Section-3 of the University Grants Commission Act, 1956 or possess an equivalent qualification.

Age limit: The candidates applying must have attained the age of 20 years and must not have attained the age of 25 years on August 1, 2015

The candidates applying for the examination should ensure that they fulfil all eligibility conditions for admission to the examination. Their admission at all the stages of the examination will be purely provisional subject to satisfying the prescribed eligibility conditions. Mere issue of e-Admission Certificate to the candidate will not imply that his/her candidature has been finally cleared by the Commission. Verification of eligibility conditions with reference to the original documents is taken up only after the candidate has qualified for Interview/Personality Test.

Application fees: The candidates (except female/SC/ ST candidates who are exempted from payment of fee) are required to pay a fee of Rs 200 (Rupees Two Hundred Only) either by depositing the money in any Branch of SBI by cash, or by using net banking facility of SBI, State Bank of Bikaner & Jaipur/State Bank of Hyderabad/ State Bank of Mysore /State Bank of Patiala/State Bank of Travancore or by using Visa/Master Credit/Debit Card.

Important dates:

“Pay by Cash” Mode option will be deactivated at 11:59 pm of May 14 i.e. one day, before the closing date

Last date for submission of applications: The online applications can be submitted by up to May 15, 2015 till 11:59 pm, after which the link will be disabled.
