SSC Junior Hindi Translator Eligibility Criteria: Nationality / Citizenship

You must be either

  1. a citizen of India, or
  2. a residence of Nepal, or
  3. a resident of Bhutan, or
  4. a Tibetan refugee who came before the 1st of January 1962, intending to settle in India permanently, or
  5. An immigrant from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, East African countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania(Formerly Tanganyika and Zanzibar), Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia, and Vietnam with Indian origin. The person should have the intention of permanently settling in India.

SSC JHT Eligibility Criteria – Essential: 

(I) (a) You have to complete a Master’s Degree from a recognized University or equivalent in Hindi or English. Also, you should have English or Hindi as a compulsory or elective subject or as a medium of examination at a degree level

OR 

(b) You should have a Master’s Degree of a recognized University or equivalent in any subject other than Hindi / English with Hindi / English medium and English / Hindi as a compulsory/elective subject or as a medium of examination at degree level

OR 

(c) You have to accomplish a Master’s Degree of a recognized University or equivalent in any subject other than Hindi / English with Hindi and English as a compulsory/elective subject / either of the two as a medium of examination and the other as a compulsory/elective subject at degree level;
and,

(II) You should have a recognized Diploma or Certificate Course in Translation from Hindi to English and vice-versa. You should also have two years experience of translation work from Hindi to English and vice-versa in Central or State Government Offices, including Government of India Undertakings.

(III)(d)You should complete the Master’s degree of a recognized University in Hindi or English with English or Hindi as a compulsory or elective subject at the degree level,

(e)You must have a Bachelor’s degree with Hindi and English as main subjects

(IV) (f) You must have Bachelor’s degree in Hindi with English as one of the subjects at the degree level either as compulsory or optional from a recognized University or Institute, and you should also have a Master‟s degree in any subject from a recognized University or Institute plus Bachelor of Education from a recognized University/ Institute.

(g) You should have a Bachelor’s degree in any subject from a recognized University or Institute plus You should also have a Master’s degree in Hindi with English as one of the subjects at the degree level either as compulsory or optional from a recognized University or Institute plus Bachelor of Education from a recognized University/ Institute.
