The Staff Selection Commission conducts the SSC GD Constable Exam on the national level annually for recruitment of candidates in various forces under the Ministry of Home Affairs, and these are:

SSC GD Constable Exam: More about the Syllabus of the CBE

1. General Intelligence & Reasoning: 
   • This section includes questions of both Verbal & Non-Verbal Reasoning.
   • The objective is to test the candidate’s ability in analytical & logical reasoning disciplines.
   • Candidates are expected to cover the list of topics as discussed in the table below.
   • The test tries to evaluate the candidate’s ability to observe and distinguish patterns through non-verbal questions.
2. GK & GA 
   • The questions don’t require any special knowledge on the candidate’s part to solve them.

To crack the CBE, knowledge about its syllabus is extremely necessary. There are four sections in the CBE. The weightage of all these sections and further details have been given as under:

Exclusive SSC GD Constable Exam Pattern 2023

Computer-Based Examination:   

1. 1. This is the first deciding stage of the recruitment process.
   2.  The final merit is prepared based on performance at this stage of the examination.
   3. All minute details related to the CBE are tabulated as under:

The exam pattern will give candidates a better understanding of what the examination will look like. The exam pattern is as follows.

• The written exam will consist of four different subjects. (General Intelligence & Reasoning, General Knowledge & General Awareness, Elementary Mathematics, and English/Hindi)
• There will be 100 questions in the exam for a total of 100 marks.
• Each question will carry a +1 mark.
• There will be a negative marking of ¼ for every wrong answer.
• The exam will be conducted in both Hindi and English languages.
• The candidates who clear this stage will be selected for the final stage which will be the Medical Test and Document Verification.

Physical Efficiency Test: 

1. 1. Candidates are tested for performance in a race in the PET.
   2. There are different performance criteria for male and female candidates and candidates from the country’s Ladakh region.
   3. Pregnant women are disqualified from taking the PET.

The details of the criteria for the PET are tabulated as under:

For the Race test, the candidates of the Ladakh Region need to follow the below criteria –

• Male: Race 1 Mile in 6 ½ minutes
• Female: 800 meters in 4 minutes
• Pregnant women are disqualified from taking this test.
• Ex-Servicemen candidates shortlisted in the CBE need to appear in PET/PST stage for recording measurements of the chest, height, and weight only. They are exempted from taking the PET. However, they need to qualify for the Detailed Medical Examination (DME).

Physical Standard Test:   

1. 1. Certain physical standards are tested in the candidates after the qualification in PET.
   2. Candidates not qualifying for the PST, other than the Ex-Servicemen who are exempted, is not allowed to appear for DME.
   3. Different standards have been prescribed for male and female candidates, tabulated below.

Direct Medical Examination:

1. 1. Candidates who qualify for the PET and PST are allowed to appear in the DME conducted by the CAPF medical board.
