SSC CGL Eligibility 2023 | Nationality/Citizenship

As per Nationality, SSC CGL Eligibility Requirements specify an applicant be a citizen of the listed states only. A candidate must comply with all of the mentioned criteria:

  • a citizen of India, or
  • a subject of Nepal, Bhutan, or
  • a Tibetan refugee who came to India before January 1, 1962, intending to permanently settle in India, or
  • a person of Indian origin migrated from either/or Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, East African countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania, Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia, and Vietnam with the intention of permanently settling in India.

Note: The official announcement states, ‘An applicant for whom a certification of eligibility is required can be allowed to the assessment, but the appointment proposal will be rendered only after the Government of India has provided the appropriate certificate of eligibility.’

SSC CGL Eligibility 2023 | Physical Fitness & Physical Test

There is one more SSC CGL Eligibility standard that an applicant must satisfy is the Physical Fitness Norm. This requirement is applicable to the applicants applying for the following positions:

  • Inspector (Central Excise/ Examiner/ Preventive Officer), Inspector & Sub-Inspector in CBN:  

For Male Aspirants

  • Physical Standards:

Height 157.5 cm. 

Chest 81 cm (fully expanded with a minimum expansion of 5 cm.)

Height Relaxable by 5 cm in the case of Garwalis, Assamese, Gorkhas, and members of Scheduled Tribes.

 

  • Physical Test:
    • Walking – 1600 meters in 15 minutes.
    • Cycling – 8 Kms. in 30 minutes.

For Female Aspirants

  • Physical Standards (Minimum Requirement)

Height:  152 cms.

Weight:  48 Kgs.

Height Relaxable by 2.5 cms. 

Weight Relaxable by 2 Kg. for Gorkhas, Garwalis, Assamese, and members of Scheduled Tribes.

  • Physical Test:
    • Walking – 1 Km. in 20 minutes.
    • Cycling – 3 Kms. in 25 minutes.
