A fraction represented with the quotient and the remainder is known as Mixed fraction. It is also called ”Mixed Numbers”. Eg: In 3 (1/5), here 3 is a whole number and 1/5 is a proper fraction.
Converting Improper fraction into mixed fraction
- Divide the numerator value along with the denominator value in a specific set of fractions i.e. 13/5.
- The integer part that you will get in the final answer will eventually be the same as the integer part that you shall get in the Mixed Fraction, i.e., 2.
- The value of the Denominator is going to be the same as the real value, i.e 5.
- You can convert the given improper fraction 13/5 in the form of a Mixed fraction which will look like 2 (3/5).
Converting Mixed Fraction Into Improper Fraction
- Multiply the denominator and the whole number, i.e. Multiply 5 by 2 as shown in the following example, 2 (3/5). 5 × 2 =10
- Add the numerator value of the Fraction with the output you got in the initial step. i.e Add 3 + 10 = 13.
- Denominator will be the same throughout the operation. i.e. 5.
- The Improper fraction you get as a result is the same as the initial value, i.e., 13/5.
- Mixed Equivalent Fractions: Two fractions are equivalent if after the simplification process their respective values are equal to each other. Eg: 1/2 and 3/6 are considered to be the two equivalent fractions as you can see that 3/6 = 1/2.
