The RRB Group D Selection Process for the recruitment of candidates involves three stages which are namely:
- Computer Based Test (CBT)
- Physical Efficiency Test (PET)
- Document Verification and Medical
RRB Group D Selection Process 2023 for Level-1 Exam 2023 (CBT)
The Computer Based Test has to be given by the candidates following which the Physical Efficiency Test is taken. The number of questions in each section and the time duration in this stage of the RRB Group D Selection Process is given below for the candidates to refer to.

Note-
- The PwBD candidates will be provided with a scribe and the time duration for them will be 120 minutes.
- The above information regarding the distribution of marks section-wise is just indicative and can vary during the examination. Each wrong answer carries a negative marking of ⅓ marks.
- The minimum percentage requirement for the various categories is as follows:
- UR-40%
- EWS-40%
- OBC(Non-creamy layer)-30%
- SC-30%
- ST-30%.
This percentage of marks for eligibility may be relaxed by 2% for PwBD candidates in case of a shortage of PwBD candidates against vacancies reserved for them.
- Where a second stage CBT is deemed necessary and held, the Railway Administration reserves the right to treat the first stage CBT as a qualifying test to shortlist a reasonable number of candidates for the second stage.
RRB Group D Selection Process 2023: Physical Efficiency Tests (PET)
In this round three times, the vacancy of candidates is called. Those who clear the computer-based test are called in this round. The physical efficiency test does not carry any marks but is qualifying in nature and a candidate is supposed to qualify at this stage to be eligible for the post and other stages.
The criteria for the selection in this stage are given below.

RRB Group D Selection Process: Document Verification and Empanelling of Candidates
- The candidates who pass the CBT are called for the document verification round. The number of candidates called in this round is twice the number of RRB Group D Vacancies.
- The candidates who are in excess can be called for empanelment if there is a shortage of candidates or if any candidate does not join later. They can also be called to join in case there is a special requirement for the post.
- If there is a case where both the candidates score the same marks, then the older person will be given a higher position. In case if the age is also the same then the selection will be based in alphabetical order to decide to break the tie.
- The selected candidates have to undergo a medical examination and educational qualification too. Those who pass all the stages are appointed by the Railway Recruitment Board.
- All those candidates who have cleared the document verification process, are called for medical examination. The additional candidates will not be taken into consideration for appointment.
