NIACL AO – Eligibility Criteria
All those who fulfill the given eligibility criteria can apply for the NIACL AO Exam. The Eligibility Criteria includes
- Age limit and relaxation (category-wise)
- Nationality
- Educational qualification
AGE LIMIT AND RELAXATION
- For the NAICL AO, candidates must be born on or after 2nd December 1988 and on or before 1st December 1997.
- The minimum age to appear for the exam is 21 years and the maximum is 30 years.
- For reserved categories, age relaxation is provided to apply for the post of NAICL AO. The table mentioned below shows age relaxation for reserved categories.

NATIONALITY
A candidate applying for the NIACL AO recruitment 2021 must fulfill either of these conditions:
- He/she must be an Indian citizen.
- He/she must be a subject of Nepal.
- He/she must be a subject of Bhutan.
- The candidate must be a Tibetan refugee before Jan 1st, 1962, with the intention of permanently settling in India.
- Must be of Indian origin, migrated from Sri Lanka, Kenya, Burma, Pakistan, Uganda, the countries of East Africa and The United Republic of Tanzania, Zaire, Ethiopia, Malawi, Zambia, and Vietnam. He/ she must have an intention of permanently settling in India.
Candidates falling under the categories (2), (3), (4) & (5), must have a certificate of eligibility, issued by the Government of India.
EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATION
- The minimum qualification to apply for NIACL AO is Graduation in any discipline from a recognized university.
- Reserved category candidates like SC/ST/PWD, applying for General Cadre, must have 55% marks (at least). For general category candidates, it is 60% (at least).
- For the NAICL AO specialist cadre, candidates must have the following educational qualification:

NIACL AO Exam – Selection Process
NAICL AO Exam has 2 main stages – Prelims and Mains. Both the stages are divided into various sections.
While Prelims is an Objective type exam with a time limit of one hour, Mains is both Objective and Descriptive type, with the time limit of 2 hours and 30 minutes, respectively.

NAICL AO Exam– Application form
- Open the Official website of NIACL and click on ‘Online Apply’.
- Click on the ‘New Sign-up option and enter the required details.
- The website will generate a Provisional number & Password and note it down.
- Enter all the details and click on ‘Save & Next.
- Before pressing the ‘Final Submit’ option make sure to check your details.
- Upload your scanned photograph and scanned signature as per the requirements given in the notification.
- Click on the payment tab and complete the procedure.
NAICL AO – Application fee
- Fee payment for the NIACL registration process can be done via Debit card (Visa, MasterCard, and Rupay), Credit card, Net banking, and Mobile wallets.
- The candidate will receive an e-receipt after successful fee payment.
- The application fee is non-refundable.
