GDS Application Form 2021 | Documents Required

It is advised that all candidates kept all the necessary document beforehand before the application process. Below listed are the required documents for the registration process.

India Post Recruitment 2021: Steps to apply online in Details

Step 1: Visit the official website appost.in

Step 2: Click on the link that says “Registration”. Enter the essential details that are required for the registration process such as, name, mobile number, date of birth, and other personal information.

Step 3: Verify your mobile number with the OTP(One-time-Password) that has been sent to your mobile number.

Step 4: A unique registration number will be generated once the OTP entered has been evaluated verified.

Step 5: Pay the application fee through online mode on the same page or the payment can be carried out on offline mode by visiting the post office nearby.

Step 6: Fill up the GDS application form using the registration number and other details. Upload your prescribed educational certificates,  photo, and signature in the prescribed formats and click on the button ‘Submit Details’.

Step 7: Take a print out of the filled GDS application form for future reference.

India Post Recruitment (GDS) Application Fee

In order to apply for the Gramin Dak Sevak Posts, candidates are expected to register themselves by paying an application fee. The applicants can pay the fees either in online mode or offline mode.

Fee Payment Through Offline Mode

In order to pay the fee through offline mode, candidates will have to visit the Head Post Office or fee payment offices. Initially, the candidates are expected to fill ou the GDS Application form.   1. In order to pay the GDS application fee through online mode, candidates will have to visit the official website and click on the link – Pay Online.
  2. Enter your registration number and other required details. Check the fee amount you need to pay and click on the “Make Payment” button.
  3. Candidates can pay the fee through Credit/Debit Cards and Net Banking facilities.
  4. Note that Rs. 10 need to be paid as a service charge apart from the application fee when paid by net banking and 1% extra to be paid if paid through credit cards, per transaction. On the other hand, no extra service charge is required for payment through debit cards.

India Post Recruitment 2021: Eligibility Criteria

Age Limit:

Minimum Age- 18 years as on 27.01.2021 the date of notification of the vacancies.

Maximum Age- 40 years as on 27.01.2021 the date of notification of the vacancies.

The maximum age shall be relax-able by 03 years for OBC and 05 years for SC / ST Category Candidates.

For PWD (PH) Candidates – Age Relaxation up to 10 years.

Educational Qualification

A candidate must possess a Secondary School Examination pass certificate, conducted by any recognized Board of School Education by the Government of India/State Governments. They should have qualified in Mathematics, the local language, and English. The candidate should also have knowledge of a local language.

Computer Knowledge

A basic computer training certificate for at least 60 days from a recognized Computer Training Institute. The Certificates from Central Government/ State Government/ University/ Boards etc. will also be acceptable for this purpose.

This requirement of basic computer knowledge certificate shall be relaxable in cases where a candidate has studied computer as a subject in Class X or Class XII or higher educational qualification provided the candidate submits a certificate of Class X or Class XII or higher educational qualification in which he/she has studied computer as a subject.

Place of Residence

The candidate selected for the post of GDS BPM must mandatorily take up his/her residence in the Branch Post Office village within one month after selection but before engagement as Gramin Dak Sevak Branch Postmaster.

The candidate shall submit a declaration to this effect in the application. The candidate selected for the post other than GDS BPM should reside in post village/delivery jurisdiction.
