Colgate is currently recruiting for the position of Associate Analyst I / II – Supply Chain Finance at their Mumbai office. The role of the Supply Chain Finance Analyst encompasses responsibilities related to Cost & Inventory and Fixed Assets activities.

Job Description

The following are the main tasks and responsibilities for the position:
  • Perform period closing activities and validation checks after closing.
  • Handle Fixed Assets accounting and monitor Capital budget.
  • Record acquisitions and disposals of fixed assets in the accounting system.
  • Conduct periodic reviews of the fixed asset schedule to identify disposals and idle assets, if any.
  • Reconcile the balance in the fixed asset subsidiary ledger with the general ledger.
  • Run depreciation calculations for all fixed assets.
  • Forecast depreciation for budgeting purposes, including projected spending.
  • Account for Restructuring Projects and perform complex analysis, such as impairment or restructuring projects and new plant setups.
  • Generate monthly Plant Performance Reports.
  • Conduct MWIP Report and Analysis.
  • Perform adjustments to the fixed asset master data.
  • Provide fixed asset data to support tax, statutory, and regulatory requirements.
  • Conduct year-end asset accounting.
  • Undertake to cost of new products and periodic cost revisions.
  • Calculate, post, and allocate journal entries.
  • Allocate overheads to products based on the stage of processing.
  • Review cost centers and resolve discrepancies, if any.
  • Prepare daily/weekly purchase price variance analysis report.
  • Settle internal orders on a daily/weekly basis.
  • Prepare monthly costing reports.
  • Post monthly standard and judgment-based accruals.
  • Calculate, review, and approve inventory reserve requirements, including Slow-Moving and Obsolete (SLOB) inventory.
  • Analyze product-wise profitability.
  • Perform process reconciliations.
  • Analyze actual costs against budgeted costs and explain variances.
  • Prepare standard cost calculations for commercial and manufacturing sites.
  • Perform budget costing.
  • Perform complex analysis to provide insights, such as global category types.
  • Perform monthly reconciliations between Financial Accounting (FI), Controlling (CO), and Profitability Analysis (PA).
  • Perform assessment and ensure compliance with SOX requirements.

Qualifications for this Job

The following are the requirements and qualifications for the position:

  • Required qualification: B.Com or CWA (Cost and Works Accountant).
  • Minimum experience required: 3+ years.
  • Proficiency in SAP software.
  • Experience in month-end closing processes.
  • Desirable knowledge of Excel, Macros, Scripting, and GL (General Ledger) sheet.
  • Working knowledge of SOX.
  • Advanced knowledge of Cost and Plant accounting.
