UPSC IFS Eligibility Criteria 2021: The Union Public Service Commission establishes the UPSC IFS Eligibility Criteria. 1. Age Limit

The age restrictions for UPSC IFS Eligibility Criteria 2021 are given below.

• The applicant must be at least 21 years old and must not be older than 32 years old.
• Age restrictions apply to applicants in several categories. Check the chart for age relaxation based on UPSC norms and regulations.
• Candidates who fall in more than one category are allowed to cumulate their age relaxation as per the guidelines of the exam conducting authority.

2. Nationality

An applicant must be either-

• Indian citizen or
• A subject of Bhutan, or
• A subject of Nepal, or
• A Tibetan refugee who arrived in India before January 1, 1962, intending to stay permanently in India.

OR

• A person of Indian origin (PIO) who has moved to India from Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Burma, or East African nations such as Zaire, Uganda, Zambia, Kenya, the United Republic of Tanzania, Malawi, Ethiopia, or Vietnam intending to stay permanently.
• Candidates from the aforementioned countries must present a certificate issued by the Government of India confirming their residency in India.

3. Educational Qualification

• To be eligible for the UPSC IFS test, applicants must be graduates in one of the following subjects: Chemistry, Botany, Animal Husbandry & Veterinary Science, Geology, Mathematics, Physics, Zoology, and Statistics.

OR

• To be eligible, applicants must hold a graduate degree in Forestry, Agriculture, or Engineering from a recognized State or Central University.

OR

• Applicants who are going to take their degree examination in one of the above-mentioned topics and/or applicants awaiting their results will also be eligible to apply for the UPSC IFS Examination.

UPSC IFS Mains Exam Eligibility 2021

The Mains Exam is an important element of the UPSC IFS Selection Process. Candidates who wish to sit for the UPSC IFS Mains 2021 Examination should be aware that their eligibility for this examination is dependent on their performance in the UPSC IFS Preliminary Examination 2021. • Applicants who successfully clear the Prelims will be allowed to appear for the written examination followed by a round of Interviews.
•  The eligibility of the candidates will be judged by the marks they score in the Prelims and the cut-off marks set by UPSC for the selection of the candidates.
• If the candidates match the cut-off scores then such candidates will be considered eligible for the next level examination.
• Candidates who will make their way through the Mains Exam (written and interview) will be called for the open posts of Indian Forest Services.
