IBPS RRB Eligibility: Age Limit

For Officer Scale- III– Candidates should be above 21 years and below 40 years.

Key Points in Connection with IBPS RRB Eligibility Age relaxation:

IBPS RRB Eligibility: Candidates must be acquainted with some very important instructions regarding age relaxation. Here are the points that must be kept in mind while seeking age relaxation in reserved categories.

  • Candidate can avail of the relaxation in the upper age limit for SC/ST/OBC category on a cumulative basis together with only one of the remaining categories (PwD, Ex-servicemen or Disabled Ex-servicemen, widows, divorced women, the domicile of J&K, or persons affected by 1984 riots).
  • Candidates applying for the posts of Officers Scale I, II, and III, seeking age relaxation, must submit copies of the required certificate(s) at the time of the Interview (if he/she is shortlisted for the interview).
  • Candidates applying for the post of Office Assistant must carry the certificates and documents certifying relaxation at the time of verification of documents.
  • A certificate of caste or category must be produced which should be issued and signed by a competent authority in the prescribed format as stipulated by the Government of India by the candidates belonging to SC/ST, PwD category.
  • In the case of candidates belonging to the OBC category, the certificate should specifically mention that the candidate does not belong to the creamy layer of the OBC Category as such candidates cannot avail of the relaxation and they must apply under the General category.
  • Ex-Servicemen candidates who have already secured employment under the Central Government in Group ‘C’ & ‘D’ will be permitted the benefit of age relaxation as prescribed for Ex-Servicemen for securing another employment in a higher grade or cadre in Group ‘C’/ ‘D’ under the Central Government. 
  • Candidate from the Ex-Servicemen category will be ceased employment on the civil side if he/she has previously availed of the relaxation benefits in seeking employment in civil services before applying for IBPS RRB 2022.
  • Candidates who have previously served in the armed forces shall be categorized as ex-servicemen and they can apply for re-employment one year before the completion of the specified term of engagement (from the last date of application) and avail themselves of all relaxations available to ex-servicemen but they shall not be permitted to leave the uniform until they complete their tenure in Armed Forces Union.

IBPS RRB Eligibility: Nationality Criteria 2023

IBPS RRB Eligibility: Nationality candidate must be:

  1. A National/Citizen of India or
  2. A subject of Nepal or
  3. A subject of Bhutan or
  4. A refugee from Tibet who came to India before January 1, 1962, with the intention of permanently settling here or
  5. A person of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, East African countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania (formerly Tanganyika and Zanzibar), Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia, and Vietnam with the intention of permanently settling in India, provided that a candidate belonging to categories (ii), (iii), (iv), (v) and above shall be a person in whose favor a certificate of IBPS RRB Eligibility has been issued by the Government of India.

Candidates having a degree in Horticulture, Forestry, Animal Husbandry, Veterinary Science, Agricultural Engineering, Pisciculture, Banking, Finance, Marketing, Agriculture, Agricultural Marketing and Cooperation, Information Technology, Management, Law, Economics and Accountancy will be given preference.

2 years as an Officer in a Bank or Financial Institution

Officer Scale-II Specialist Officers (IT)

Degree in Electronics / Communication / Computer Science / Information Technology with a minimum of 50% marks Certification in ASP, PHP, C++, Java, VB, VC, OCP, etc will be given preference.

Officer Scale-II Specialist Officers (CA)

Certified Associate (CA) from the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India.

Degree in Law with a minimum of 50% marks.

2 years as an advocate OR should have worked as Law Officer in Banks or Financial Institutions

Important Points for IBPS RRB Eligibility-

  • Official notification of IBPS RRB 2023 is to be out on June 14, 2023, and online registration will commence from July 1, 2023, to July 21, 2023.
  • The last date to apply online and registration fee payment is July 21, 2023.
  • The IBPS RRB admit card 2023 for the prelims online test will be issued to the IBPS RRB Eligibility candidates in August 2023.
  • IBPS RRB PO (Officer Scale-I) prelims online-based test will be expected to take on 1, 2, 8, 9, 16 August 2023 while the main exam will be held on September 13, 2023.
  • IBPS RRB clerk (office assistant) prelims exam will be conducted on 1, 2, 8, 9, and 16 August 2023 while the main exam will be held on September 19, 2023.
  • The announcement of the result for the IBPS RRB Clerk and PO prelims exam will be released in September 2023.
  • The admit card for the main exam is to be issued to the candidates, who qualify for the preliminary exam. The tentative exam dates for the main exam for Officer scale-I is September 22, 2023, and for Office, the Assistant is September 29, 2023.
  • The main/single exam for Officers Scale II & III, an online test will take place on September 13, 2023.
  • The final result of the Personal interview with a provisional list of selected candidates will be declared by the end of January 2023.
