Things to Remember Before Attempting the JEE Main Exam

Have a positive mindset throughout the process -  Students should always be positive. Remember one thing, by taking tension you won’t clear the exam. Instead, it might only affect your health. If you allow negative things to capture your mind, it will be difficult for you to achieve success.

Meditate-  You must know that studies have shown that meditating before the exam greatly contributes to improved concentration, memory, and reading comprehension. With this, it aids in relieving stress & anxiety and prevents you from getting distracted both during the preparation and while attempting the exam.

Look for varieties in studying spots -  There are times when students get bored studying at the same place. In such situations, a change in the place of study/practice/revision will prove to be helpful. Try out studying in various areas of your house that will make you feel comfortable and productive too.

Keep attempting mock tests-  The more you will attempt the mock tests, the more you will gain an idea of the real JEE Main question paper.  With every mock test, your exam fear will subside, and you will develop the right exam temperament.

Eat healthily and have a good sleep -  One of the common things that students compromise during exam days is sleep. You require 8 hours of sleep days before the exam starts.  A body and mind which has got adequate rest will grasp information fast. Hence, students should eat fresh green veggies and drink lots of water regularly.

Learn Time Management –  With some effective ways, you can develop time management skills. Make sure to attempt timed practice papers during your revision phase, put more focus on the questions that are worth 25% of the total score, look for quick wins by answering the easy questions first and keep an eye on the clock.

Always focus on quantity rather than quality -  Everyone has that one friend who tells that he or she studies for almost 15 hours. Don’t get carried away by those stories. If you are able to finish the same number of lessons in much less time than your friend, then you are the winner.

Set realistic expectations -  you cannot expect to attain the top All India Ranks if you have not prepared well and likewise, you should not be worried about failing to achieve your desired rank if you have studied to your full potential. Hence, there is no need to panic before the exam or get disappointed seeing your scores later.

Don’t ignore revision -  It is vital to revise things that you have studied but never overdo them. Move slowly and do not revise the same thing again and again. Take breaks frequently and try to solve problems that have a high chance of appearing in the exam.

Be hopeful -  Finally, don’t lose hope. Don’t lose confidence. Always think that you are well-prepared for the exam and will clear it with flying colors.
