7 Robotics Competitions for High Schoolers

FRC is a large-scale robotics competition where teams of high school students design, build, and program robots to compete in an annual challenge.

FIRST Robotics Competition (FRC):

VEX offers a variety of robotics competitions, including VRC, VEX U, and more. Students design and build robots to compete in challenges that change annually, promoting innovation and collaboration.

VEX Robotics Competition:

BEST stands for "Boosting Engineering, Science, and Technology." Teams are provided a standardized kit of materials and have six weeks to design, build, and test a robot that can complete specific tasks.

BEST Robotics Competition:

RoboCup is an international competition that focuses on various robotics challenges, including soccer, rescue missions, and more. It promotes research and education in robotics and artificial intelligence.

RoboCup:

Zero Robotics is a programming competition where students code satellites called SPHERES (Synchronized Position Hold Engage and Reorient Experimental Satellites) on the International Space Station to compete in a space-based challenge.

Zero Robotics:

Botball challenges students to design, build, and program autonomous robots to complete tasks on a playing field. The competition emphasizes STEM education and critical thinking.
