KVPY (Kishore Vaigyanik Protsahan Yojana)

KVPY is a national-level scholarship program and examination aimed at identifying and nurturing talented students in the field of basic sciences. 

Eligibility 

KVPY is typically open to students studying in Class 11, 12, and undergraduate (up to the third year) in science-related streams. 

Exam Structure 

The KVPY exam consists of a written test followed by an interview. The written test assesses the candidate's understanding of science concepts. 

Emphasis on Aptitude 

While KVPY does test scientific knowledge, it places a significant emphasis on the aptitude for scientific research. 

IIT JEE (Indian Institutes of Technology Joint Entrance Examination):

IIT JEE is an entrance examination for admission to undergraduate engineering programs (B.Tech and B.E.) at the Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs). 

Eligibility 

Students who have completed their Class 12 or equivalent examination with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics as core subjects are eligible to appear for IIT JEE.

The exam is typically divided into two stages: JEE Main and JEE Advanced. JEE Main is a preliminary stage, and qualifying students can appear for JEE Advanced.
