RRB JE Selection Process 2023
RRB JE Selection Process includes four stages. The first stages are online exams called CBT 1 and CBT 2. Below is the list of four stages of RRB JE Recruitment.
- RRB JE 2021 CBT – 1 Examination
- RRB JE 2021 CBT – 2 Examination
- RRB JE 2021 Documents Verification
- RRB JE 2021 Medical Examination

RRB JE CBT – 1
RRB JE 2021 Computer Based Test (CBT 1) will have Multiple Choice Questions(MCQs). A candidate needs to qualify for the RRB JE CBT 1 2020-2021 Exam to appear for the second stage of the CBT.
Candidates, who qualify for CBT 1 will have their Roll Numbers displayed in the Merit List. The merit list will be published on the official website of various RRBs. More details of the exam are as follows:
- There will be 100 Multiple objective type Questions in the examination in the online mode.
- A time period of 90 minutes will be given to complete the test
- There will be a negative marking of 1/3 out of the total marks for each wrong answer.
- The First Stage of RRB JE CBT will not contain the Technical portion.
- The Exam will be divided into four sections- Mathematics, General Science, General Awareness, and General Intelligence and Reasoning.
- Each Question will carry 1 mark.

Number of Questions and Time Limit-
- There will be 100 Multiple Choice Questions in the examination.
- A time period of 90 minutes will be given to complete the test
- There will be a negative marking of 1/3 out of the total marks for each wrong answer.
RRB JE CBT – 2
Candidates, who qualify for the RRB JE CBT 1 2020-2021 will then have to take up CBT 2. Similar to CBT 1, CBT 2 will be MCQ (Multiple Choice Questions) type examination.
A final Merit List will then be published based on the RRB CBT 2 2021 Exam. Category Candidates, whose roll numbers appear in the Merit List after qualifying for the RRB JE CBT 2 will then have to pass through a Document Verification Process. The details for the RRB JE CBT 2 2023 Exam is as follows:
- There are 150 Questions in total
- The Time duration for RRB JE CBT 2 is 120 minutes
- There is Negative Marking and 1/3 of the marks are deducted for each incorrect answer
- RRB JE CBT 2 2023 will contain five sections.
- Each question in these sections carries 1 mark.

RRB JE Selection Process | Document Verification
If an eligible candidate’s name is published in the Merit List then you have to appear in a Document Verification process. You need to bring a few original documents to complete their verification.
A qualified candidate must submit all the documents on the day of Document Verification and no extra time is allowed by RRB to submit the documents. Here is the complete list of the documents that a candidate needs to bring on the Document Verification day:

RRB JE Selection Procedure | Medical Examination
In order to get the appointment letter from the Chief Personnel Officer of the Zonal Railways, the candidate needs to pass through an RRB JE Medical Examination.
This is the last stage of the RRB JE selection process and candidates have to pass through this process.
Following is the categorization of the fitness standards
- A-3: Physically fit in all respects. Visual Standards-Distance Vision: 6/9, 6/9 with or without glasses (power of lenses not to exceed 2D). Near Vision: Sn: 0.6, 0.6 with or without glasses and must pass the test for Colour Vision, Binocular Vision, Field of Vision & Night Vision.
- B-1: Physically fit in all respects, Visual Standards-Distance Vision: 6/9, 6/12 with or without glasses (power of lenses not to exceed 4D). Near Vision: Sn.0.6, 0.6 with or without glasses when reading or close work is required and must pass the test for Colour Vision, Binocular Vision, Field of Vision & Night Vision.
