The wait is finally over. This Sunday on May 10th, 2015, a large number of students who aspire to make their career in the field of law will take CLAT 2015 examination. As you must have familiarized yourself with the pattern of this examination, here are a few last minute tips for you to do well in examination.
• CLAT 2015 examination will have a total of 200 questions spread over 5 sections. So, your target should be to do as many questions as you can. But, remember that there is negative marking of 0.25 marks. So, do not make wild guesses.
• There are 5 sections – English including Comprehension (40 marks), General Knowledge and Current Affairs (50 marks), Elementary Mathematics (Numerical Ability) (20 marks), Legal Aptitude (50 marks), and Logical Reasoning (40 marks). Try to do justice to each and every section. But, since in case of tie-breaking (i.e. in case of same scores by two or more students), a student who scores higher marks in Legal Aptitude section gets priority over other student (s) in selection. So, Legal Aptitude section should be done with special care.
o Note: If tie is not broken by Scores of Legal Aptitude section, then there are ‘higher age’ and ‘computerized draw of lot’ criteria (in that order).
• Students are tested on their problem solving abilities (Math, Legal Aptitude and Logical Reasoning), their command over language (English) and their general knowledge. So, have confidence over what you have learnt and practiced. For example, for Math and logical reasoning section, student should revise basic formula and short cut tricks to handle a particular type of problems.
• Keep your mind fresh before exams. Do not overstretch yourself as we tend to commit silly mistakes if we exhaust/tire ourselves just before the examinations. Keep yourself calm and focused.
