How to cope with  Exam Anxiety?

Plan Your Revision Think about questions you might expect to find in your exam.   The department or School and the Library might have copies of previous exam paper

Take Proper Break  Studying 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, will make you exhausted – burnt out even – long before the actual exam

Eating and Sleeping Your brain needs energy and it also needs rest.   Eat little and often.  Eat quality food, e.g. wholemeal bread, pasta, nuts, fruit, lots of vegetables etc.

Revise when you are  Feeling Alert Make sure you take time after doing revision to wind down.   Try not to go straight to bed without winding down

Don't Panic the Night  Before   – Learn in advance how to relax.    In that way, you will feel confident that, if you start to panic or your mind goes blank, you will be able to regain control

Learn Time Management –  With some effective ways, you can develop time management skills. Make sure to attempt timed practice papers during your revision phase, put more focus on the questions that are worth 25% of the total score, look for quick wins by answering the easy questions first and keep an eye on the clock.

Always focus on quantity rather than quality -  Everyone has that one friend who tells that he or she studies for almost 15 hours. Don’t get carried away by those stories. If you are able to finish the same number of lessons in much less time than your friend, then you are the winner.

Set realistic expectations -  you cannot expect to attain the top All India Ranks if you have not prepared well and likewise, you should not be worried about failing to achieve your desired rank if you have studied to your full potential. Hence, there is no need to panic before the exam or get disappointed seeing your scores later.

Be hopeful -  Finally, don’t lose hope. Don’t lose confidence. Always think that you are well-prepared for the exam and will clear it with flying colors.
