How To Prepare For UPSC Exams In 6 Months

The preliminary exam of the UPSC Civil Services Exam is undoubtedly the most difficult phase of the exam. Qualifying prelims consecutively from last five attempts as people fall below the minimum score of 0.33 in paper 1 or qualifying paper of CSAT.

Prelims are only qualifying and once you prepare well for mains your prelims are prepared. This notion is wrong as if you have only 6 months or less time available. In these 6 months, you should prepare for prelims as well and after that, you can give some time to your mains.

You should begin with simply reading and thinking without underlining your textbook. You can begin with modern India NCERT history book. Read modern India Bipin Chandra NCERT without underlining and also read M Laxmikant of polity without underlining.

In the first week of February, you should complete July 2022 current affairs and January current affairs. Revise two subjects per week like polity and geography. Solve PYQ, do map work

In this first week of March 2023, you should complete only the summary not the original of the economic survey and budget. Read Only February 2023 current affairs. By now all the 7 subjects of UPSC Prelims would have been completed. You can also see improvement in your test series scores.

Revise Modern India NCERT once again. Solve at least 15 years of history questions and also solve some questions from a website that is free.

Remember you have studied well, worked hard and you are going to write mains 2023, and you will not only qualify for UPSC CSE 2023 prelims but will also score very good marks in UPSC mains 2023 after this exhaustive hard work.
