Attend the school orientation - School orientations are designed for students to familiarize themselves with the school. There you can explore the hallways you will be walking in for the next four years of high school.
Have all of your school supplies by the first few weeks - Try to get your school supplies as early as possible. The back-to-school rush is very real and will leave you looking at near-empty shelves at stores.
Create an organization system in your locker - Your locker can be your best friend or your worst enemy in high school. Having an unorganized locker will make you late for class if your supplies aren’t put together.
Set up reminders - If you use the education platform Canvas, you can link your assignments’ due dates from the calendar provided in Canvas to your own personal Google Calendar.
Be afraid to talk to new people, including teachers - If you are lucky enough to see a few familiar faces from middle school, feel free to catch up with them, but also try chatting with your new classmates so you can have some buddies in your classes before the first day of school.
Skip reading the syllabus for each of your classes - A good proportion of your questions can be answered just by reading the syllabus, so be sure to keep it throughout the school year for reference.
