‘Poetry is what gets lost in translation’. This famous saying of Robert Frost is equally applicable to all forms of writings conveyed through translation. Even as the saying endures, it is through translation that the beautiful lines of world famous poets, Robert Frost included, attract readers in every country, while travelling through this world. We can safely surmise then: “What remains after translation is poetry.”

Poetry enchants us due to an ineffable quality- something far beyond the play of words. It is not an easy task to capture that essence in another language. Only another poet can attempt at such an adventure. Ministhy S , has poetry within her. Having been wounded by poems- not by water- she retains it in her soul.
