Strong background of physiology is needed for understanding of Pathophysiology. Since a separate subject of Anatomy and Physiology is devoted in the degree curriculum, suggested by Pharmacy Council of India (PCI), the present book does not provide physiological background for the disease. Diseases as mentioned in the curriculum have been covered under the headings of etiology, signs and symptoms and complications. Since names of many diseases are new to the students of health profession/pharmacy, a separate section of appendix on definitions/diseases and syndromes/other related clinical terms are included in the book.
