It gives me great pleasure to present this book to the students of VI Semester of All Branches. The text book has been written strictly as per the new MSBTE syllabus for 'G' Scheme.

My intention during the whole writing process had been to make the subject easy, interesting and purposeful. Unnecessary explanations and excessive material have been strictly avoided, to keep the content to the point. Practical examples are included to enrich the understanding of each theory. Efforts have also been made to explain the concepts with ample number of figures.

After completion of their course, diploma engineers are usually given the position of junior engineers or supervisors who act as a link between higher management and workers. Due consideration has thus been given to this fact while explaining the principles of management.
