Management Information Systems

Management information system, or MIS, broadly refers to a computer-based system that provides managers with the tools to organise, evaluate and efficiently manage departments within an organisation. In order to provide past, present and predicted information, a management information system can include software that helps in decision making, data resources such as databases, the hardware resources of a system, decision support systems, people management and project management applications, and any computerised processes that enable the department to run efficiently. It therefore gives me immense pleasure to present to the B.B.A. students of the Savitribai Phule Pune University, this Text Book on “Management Information Systems”. This book is written according to the syllabus prescribed for B.B.A. – Semester IV.
