This latest edition of my book ‘Industrial Engineering and Management’ is due to the support of students and faculty of various Engineering Institutes, Polytechnics, Management colleges for over more than three decades. I feel in debted to them. My endeavour has been throughout these years to eliminate any in advertent error, in printing, or text and provide topics of latest importance in industry or other organisations, and keep on updating. The present edition is much delayed, because I was pre-occupied in thoroughly revising my other book on ‘Manufacturing Processes and Technology’. Which is complete now and available in the market. In this latest edition the informations on quality control has been regrouped in chapter 6 and 6A, so that the readers get all information on inspection and quality control, principles, methods to control outgoing quality, sampling techniques T.Q.M. Quality circle, control charts, brain storming, flexi-time, Juran’s theory etc. one by one in subsequent pages. In chapter-3 Materials handling principles and equipment, unit load concept, containerization etc. have been included with a large number of figures of all equipment and factory layout principles. Chapter 5A contains process planning steps, process capability, machine capability, production planning and control etc, where as chapter 5 includes M.R.P-II. Operating cycle etc. elaborately
