Indian Economic Environment

There was a consistent stagnation in some parts of Indian Economy till 1991. But after adoption of New Economic Reforms some stagnated parts experienced robust growth but some still lagged behind such as poverty, employment, population, living standard, price stability, agriculture etc. Moreover the New Economic Reforms accelerated the pace of economic disparity and regional imbalance more profoundly. In such scenario it is very much necessary to study Indian economy as a whole before and after 1991. In this respect the framers of this syllabus have kept a great vision regarding knowledge and inquisitiveness among students.

The Board of Studies, Pune University, Pune has framed a new syllabus for FYBA part-I “Indian Economic Environment” and this new revised syllabus is going to effect from June 2019. So in this respect I am very much glad to hand over this much awaited and needful book regarding “Indian Economic Environment” for concern students and teachers.

This book is written according to new revised syllabus where I have made a sincere attempt to satisfy the trust of students and teachers by providing needful information, meaningful definitions, updated facts and figures, problems and its solutions and government policies etc. This book divided into three units as per syllabus. While preparing this book I have made use of an authentic and current data and information from different sources related to Indian Economy.
