Human Resource Management

It gives me immense pleasure to introduce this text book of Human Resource Management for the students of Bachelor of Computer Applications, Semester IV. The book has been written as per the newly revised syllabus with effect from June 2014.

The book begins with an introduction to the vast subject of Human Resource Management, its role, importance, functions and challenges faced. The syllabus also entails in itself the concept of performance appraisal which is explained by enumerating the various methods. Training and development along with wages and salary administration is also covered in detail. A welcome addition to the syllabus is the new topic of E-HR.

This book is an attempt to present the syllabus and put it across to the students in the most simple and lucid manner. I hope the basic study of the subject induces interest in the students and motivates them to opt for it as a specialisation at a higher level.
