The present edition of the book is divided into three main parts. The first part deals with the Fundamentals of Human Geography. It throws light on different aspects of the world population and the interrelation between man and his natural environment. The second part of the book is devoted to the Geography of India. It gives a critical analysis of burning issues like environment besides dealing at length with population, natural resources, transport and trade of the country. The third part of the book is concerned with the practical aspect of the subject. A detailed account of processing of data and thematic mapping as well as field study and spatial information technology has been given in this section. The book has been made more useful by documenting it with the latest data and information.
Each chapter is followed by very short answer questions and questions carrying 3 and 5 marks respectively. These questions include previous years’ CBSE examination questions.
