We take an opportunity to present this Text Book on "File Organization and Fundamental of Databases" to the First Year B.Sc. Computer Science students. The objective of this book is to present the subject matter in a most concise, compact, to the point and lucid manner.
Database technology is a cheaper solution for industry based software since it is too expensive to hire people to do certain jobs such as sorting and indexing files. The first database system was built upon the SQL standard in 1980s from Oracle. Relational databases became more popular from 1980s.
This book introduces the fundamental concept necessary for designing and implementing database system, which is helpful throughout the life time as a student and professional.
The book contains extensive exercises at the end of each chapter. Numerous case studies are helpful for students to build a database application design and implementation project. Normalization concept is clearly define, so the students can design normalized database accurately
