Elements Of Mechanical Engineering (For PTU, Jalandhar)

The fourth edition of the book is being presented to the readers after removing the errors and misprints still left inadvertently. The book covers the new syllabi of Elements of Mechanical Engineering subject of Punjab Technical University, Jalandhar. An added feature of the book is the Explanatory Notes included as Appendix – A for all the Exercises chapter wise.

The important feature is the inclusion of new chapter “Engineering Materials” and Centroid, C.G. and Moment of Inertia, Miscellaneous Solved Examples have been added as Appendix – B. This has been done for the readers to recapitulate their retentive power after going through the text. The readers are advised to initially solve these problems without going through the solutions and only in case of difficulty they should consult the solutions.

Many more Short Answer Type Questions from previous PTU examination questions have been added for the benefit of the students. The numerical problems from PTU examinations have been updated in Appendix C.
