The Board of Technical Education, Maharashtra State has revised the curriculum of Second Year Diploma Courses in Chemical Engineering/Plastic Engineering from the academic year 2013-2014. The subject of "Electrical and Electronics" is one of the core technology subjects included in the curriculum of the above courses. This book is specially designed to serve as a Text-Book for this subject.

As per the syllabus, the subject matter in the book is divided into two sections namely Electrical Engineering and Electronics. Electrical engineering section covers the topics on Basic Fundamentals, D.C. Motors, A.C. Motors, Transformers and, Electrical Wiring and Safety. Electronics section covers the topics on Semiconductor Electronic Devices, Bipolar Junction Transistors, Power Supply and Digital Circuits.
