Book Summary:

We feel indeed very happy to present this book of “Descriptive Statistics-I, Paper I” for the students of B.Sc. Part I. The book is written according to the new syllabus (C.B.C.S. Pattern) of Shivaji University, Kolhapur with effect from June, 2018.

The main purpose of the book is to provide foundation as well as comprehensive background of ‘Descriptive Statistics’ to beginners in simple and interesting manner. For the sake of comprehension, we have included number of illustrations, remarks, figures, diagrams etc. to elucidate statistical concepts. Applications of Statistics in real life situations are emphasized through illustrative examples. We have included the additional feature MS-EXCEL commands to obtain summary statistics. It will give an exposure to statistical computing package. Ample number of theoretical as well as numerical problems are provided in each chapter. At the end of each chapter exercises having various types of questions which covers university question papers upto April, 2018. It also includes answers of multiple choice questions. The numerical problems will also be useful for the B.Sc. Part I students to prepare for Practical’s.
