Biogas technology has been disseminated in India through the NPBD (National Project on Biogas Development) and over 2.5 million biogas plants have been installed. AFPRO (Action for Food Production), an NGO has played a leading role in the field-level implementation of NPBD in partnership with CHF (Canadian Hunger Foundation).
