A Textbook Of Electric Motors And Transformers

Under I-Scheme, the Board of Technical Education, Maharashtra State has revised the curriculum of Second Year Diploma Courses in Electrical Engineering Group with effect from the academic year 2017-18. The subject of "Electric Motors and Transformers" is one of the core subjects included in this revised curriculum. This book is exclusively written to serve as a text book for this subject.

The subject matter in the book is arranged as per new curriculum. It includes the topics on Introduction to Electric Motors, D.C. Machines, Single-Phase Transformers, Three-Phase Transformers and Special Purpose Transformers. The international system of units (S.I.) is used throughout the book.

A considerable number of worked examples are included in each chapter to enable the students to understand the electrical principles thoroughly. Each chapter is concluded with 'Points to Remember' and 'Important Formulae at a Glance'. Numerical examples (with solutions) and classified theory questions (for self-study) from large number of B.T.E. examination papers are added at the end of each chapter to enhance the utility of the book.
